This year, If you are a smartphone company and you still haven’t released any type of tablets – you may want to retire already. I’m serious! I mean, at the CES event today, most of the giant smartphone companies had each revealed their own tablets and some just looked like an ‘ipad-killer’ at first glance. And up we go, with Acer’s latest tablet – Acer Iconia Tab A500. As some of you may already know, this tablet has been leaked two months ago featuring some impressive specifications with some special brag-lines like it would be using 4G and Android 3.0 – today, it appears Acer isn’t joking at all.
For our newbie readers, Acer Iconia Tab A500 is much different with the Acer Iconia dual-screen laptop. And this one flaunts some amazing set of specifications like harnessing the power of NVIDIA Tegra-2 dual-core for its processor and will be capable of supporting Verizon’s 4G LTE network. It will be under a 10.1-inch form factor with 10-point-multitouch feature capacitive screen, rear-camera, will be using Android Honeycomb on its launch, HDMI out / USB port. Interestingly, it will have a gyroscope and will provide support for 3D games as well. In addition to that, it will have full 1080p video playback capability, use Acer UI 4.5 for its interface and will provide Adobe Flash Player 10.1 support.
No word for its price or any release date but expect it to be revealed later on this quarter.
